Our promise
A price verdict is only useful if you can trust it. These rules apply to every brand, retailer and advertiser, including the ones who pay us.
- Verdicts can't be bought or removed. No one can pay to turn a “Fake promo” into a “Really cheap”, or to hide a verdict. Advertisers get the same verdicts as everyone else.
- Ads are labelled and kept apart. Anything paid is marked “Ad” and is never placed inside a verdict.
- Only real deals can be advertised. A promotion can be promoted only if our data rates it “Really cheap”.
How a verdict is made
- The main comparison is the same store's median regular price for that product over the last 90 days, per standard unit (per kg, per litre, per piece).
- We also show the lowest current price we know of at other stores.
- Every price shows where it came from: a shelf photo, the retailer's website, or the government's PriceCatcher data.
- When there isn't enough data, we say so.
